My Introduction

Today is October 19, 2016 and my first real attempt at blogging. I could blog everyday about my rabbits! Tomorrow I will pick up a pair of Velveteen Lops from Misfit Acres and I couldn't be more excited! Its been several years since i've owned Velveteens. My first beloved pair, Dragon's Breath Butch and Cookie Dough.  

We are just a small rabbitry in Western Maryland with a variety of breeds of rabbits. I just couldn't settle on one or two breeds or colors. We enjoy showing at the Garrett County Fair and maybe one day will start showing at the bigger rabbit shows. For now i'm content with raising rabbits for pets and 4-H. 

Some of the breeds we have are Lionheads, Lops (Holland, French, Mini, and soon Velveteens), Harlequins, Netherland Dwarfs, Jersey Woolies and a few other buns including an English Angora, French Angora, Dutch, Flemish. We do not breed these last few. They are just pets. We've been trying Mini Rex for awhile but can't seem to get going with them. 

These 4 double maned siblings will be staying.  Tootsie Roll, Jude, Little Bear, & Shylow. 

Beautiful Magpie Harlequins. They will be bred with a Japanese Harlequin in the Spring.
